Irish Garden Bird Survey
26th Feb 2026
We took part in the Irish Garden Bird Survey from the start of December until the end of February. We were provided with 3 bird feeders and a variety of food - seeds, fat balls and nuts. Each day the children and teachers in the Junior and Senior Room recorded the number of each bird they could identify in the yard. We discovered the most regular small birds were two pied wagtails, two blue tits and a robin. When we threw out lunch scraps the larger birds visited such as magpies, rooks, jackdaws and hooded crows. We are now all much better at identifying local birds.
