Global Citizenship Marine Environment Day of Action

8th Mar 2026

On Tuesday 24th February we had our Global Citizenship Marine Environment Day of Action. The children and staff wore an item of green for the day.

We learned about the Picker Pal Programme and invited parents to consent to participate.

We had a Spring Clean around the school to collect rubbish to prevent it ending up in the sea.

We brought all the children together in the Senior Room for a Green School Marine Brainstorm.  At one table, the children brainstormed everything they could think about the marine environment and at the other table the children brainstormed about marine pollution.

The children were asked to create a Marine themed Green School Code. First we looked at some ideas from other schools. Then the children worked  individually and in pairs to create posters.

The Senior Room  also had a visit from Brian Parle as part of the Marine Explores Education Programme.
